Ithra Winter: Journey of Stories, Interactive Experiences, Exceptional Activities

The “Winter at Ithra” event, organized by the King Abdulaziz Center for World Culture, has attracted over 57,000 visitors since December 16. Visitors enjoyed activities across Ithra’s facilities, including art, music, workshops, and interactive games. Craft exhibitions and unique food from international restaurants and cafes added to the appeal. Many attendees participated in performances and family sessions, designed to engage all ages and community groups.

Sports Talent

In the grand hall of the center, a sports challenge program with advanced techniques was organized. From this space, one of the attendees was able to discover the talent of his son, who recently joined a famous football club, according to his statement. The father of the young man, Ahmed Al-Misnad, added that during his family’s visit to the Winter Ithra events, his son Ahmed took on a challenge with a football player who was in the same location. The challenge ended with his son’s victory due to his technical football skills.

He explained, “I was surprised by the presence of a football player from one of the Saudi clubs in the grand hall at Ithra, and it seemed to be part of a family visit. My son insisted on playing with him and documenting the moments by taking photos. Here came the surprise, with my son’s skill, as he had recently joined a football club as a beginner trainee, based on the player’s advice.”

Moment Factory Studio

In the same hall, the “Moment Factory” studio offers interactive play with specially designed equipment. Visitors can enjoy four body-movement-controlled games using innovative tracking technology and collaborate on multimedia platforms.

Winter Wonders

The activities of Winter at Ithra didn’t just focus on sports such as table tennis, football challenges, and others, but also included activities deeply rooted in the arts, crafts, and the world of colors. These activities were spread across the Ithra Gardens, taking participants on a journey that began with an idea and ended with works distinguished by maturity. Many described it as an opportunity to experience new programs that had never been held before.

Nora Al-Ahmed, a visitor,  described it as the “Winter Wonders” event, noting that it brings families together around the fireplace and winter adventures. Games like “Kiram” and “X O” (Tic-Tac-Toe), among others, bring them together in unforgettable memories, as she describes.
