General Authority of Awqaf Takes Part in Hajj, Umrah Services Conference
The General Authority of Awqaf is participating in the third edition of the Hajj and Umrah Services Conference and Exhibition for the year 2024, reported Saudi Press Agency.
The conference is held under the patronage of King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud. The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah organized the conference during the period from January 8 to 11 in Jeddah Governorate.
Awqaf’s Participation in Hajj and Umrah Services Conference
The Authority’s pavilion in the accompanying exhibition highlights its efforts in serving the pilgrims. It also raises awareness about the authority’s role in achieving a sustainable impact.
Moreover, the authority is taking part in the conference’s dialogue sessions. It is signing a number of agreements and memoranda of understanding,. It aims to enhance the authority’s role in economic and social development.
Awqaf’s Effort to Serve Pilgrims
The authority has contributed to supporting many initiatives and projects aimed at serving the pilgrims over five years, with more than one and a half billion Riyals.
This is an extension of its strategic goals in developing the Awqaf sector, and directing funds to high-impact programs.
It is noteworthy that the Authority works on organizing and protecting the Awqaf sector, developing the its services to beneficiaries.
Furthermore, it works on the development and sustainability of the sector. It will apply the best practices, and enacting regulations and laws that elevate the Awqaf’s work.
Thus, this would enhance the role of endowments in economic, social development, and social solidarity, according to Islamic Sharia and regulations. It would also lead to achieving the aspirations of the wise leadership in making the Kingdom a leader in the non-profit sector.
