GCC Finance Ministers review the developments of economic unity program

Their Excellencies the Ministers of Finance held the meeting of the Financial and Economic Cooperation Committee of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), in the Bahraini capital, Manama.

During the meeting, they reviewed many topics related to strengthening financial and economic cooperation between the GCC states. The committee reviewed the recommendations submitted to it by the GCC Central Bank Governor’s Committee, the Customs Union Authority, the GCC Tax Administration Heads and Managers Committee, and the Gulf Common Market Committee.
They also reviewed the developments of the program to achieve economic unity among the countries of the Cooperation Council by 2025 and the studies that are being followed up by the General Secretariat.

The meeting is held under the chairmanship of His Excellency Sheikh Salman bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, Minister of Finance and National International Economy in the Kingdom of Bahrain – Chairman of the current session. It witnessed the participation of His Excellency the Secretary-General of the GCC, Dr. Nayef Falah Mubarak Al-Hajraf.

The members of the Financial and Economic Cooperation Committee inaugurated the electronic window (GCC Takamul), which aims to address inquiries, observations, complaints and suggestions regarding the Gulf Common Market.

The common Gulf markets are witnessing remarkable progress to enhance Gulf citizenship, as this window allows all citizens of the Gulf Cooperation Council, who benefit from the paths of the common Gulf markets, the right to submit inquiries, observations and proposals through the website of the General Secretariat of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf.
