The first edition of the Esports World Cup began in Riyadh on Tuesday and will continue until August 25, 2024 in Boulevard Riyadh City, reported Asharq Aawsat.
More than 2,500 players, both male and female, representing elite international teams are participating. The competition offers the most expensive financial prizes in the history of the gaming and e-sports sector, with a total exceeding $60 million.
The Esports World Cup, organized by the Esports World Cup Foundation (EWCF), is an important step in the Foundation’s endeavor to develop and grow the esports sector. The tournament aims to provide sustainable options for practical paths for players and multi-team clubs. Moreover, it aims to support the organization in being an attractive platform and celebrate excellence in this growing field.
The tournament brings together the global eSports community of players, fans, game producers and publishers under the umbrella of the largest event in the history of eSports.
