“Embracing Cuteness”: Queen Rania Shares Photo with Granddaughter Princess Iman

Queen Rania of Jordan has embraced her new role as a grandmother, sharing a heartwarming photo with her granddaughter, Princess Iman bint Al Hussein bin Abdullah II. The snapshot, posted on Instagram on Tuesday, captures a tender moment between the Queen and the newest member of the Jordanian royal family.

A Doting Grandmother

In the casual photo, Queen Rania is dressed down in a white T-shirt, trousers, and socks, with her shoes off. She sits comfortably with her legs up on a stool, cradling Princess Iman in her arms. King Abdullah II, the proud grandfather, sitting across from them, completing the family scene. “So much cuteness in my arms,” Queen Rania captioned the post, expressing her joy.

Welcoming Princess Iman

Princess Iman, born on August 3, is the first child of Crown Prince Hussein and Princess Rajwa, and the first grandchild for Queen Rania and King Abdullah. The birth of Princess Iman has been celebrated widely, with both grandparents sharing their joy on social media.

King Abdullah expressed his happiness in a heartfelt message, translated from Arabic: “Praise be to God who gave us our first granddaughter, Iman bint Al Hussein. I congratulate Al Hussein and Rajwa on their newborn. We ask God to give her good growth and protect her for her parents. You have enlightened our family, Grandpa!”

She wrote, “Praise be to God for His greatest gifts… You have brightened our lives with our beloved granddaughter Iman. May God keep her with us. Congratulations to Hussein and Rajwa, and may God fill your lives with blessings and contentment.”

A New Chapter for the Royal Family

In a 2022 interview on Good Morning America, she shared, “I used to always say my favorite title is mama, but I think that’s going to quickly change” to the Arabic word for grandma. “We have a saying in Arabic that no person is dearer to us more than our children than our grandchildren. So I’m really excited to have babies in my life soon.”

As the Jordanian royal family celebrates this joyous occasion, they have also launched a website where Jordanians can send their best wishes to the new parents. The birth of Princess Iman has indeed brightened the lives of the royal family, marking the beginning of a cherished era for Queen Rania and King Abdullah.
