DCO Chief Meets UN Sec.-Gen. in Riyadh on Digital Cooperation

 Digital Cooperation Organization (DCO) Secretary-General Deemah AlYahya met with United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres in Riyadh to explore ways to enhance collaboration on digital cooperation, building on the DCO’s observer status at the United Nations General Assembly.

The discussions highlighted opportunities to deepen coordination between the two organizations in areas of shared priority, including accelerating inclusive digital transformation, strengthening digital governance frameworks, and encouraging the responsible use of emerging technologies to support sustainable development and broad-based digital prosperity.

India aims to boost Africa ties through digital cooperation

Both leaders emphasized the critical role of multilateral cooperation in addressing global digital challenges, stressing the importance of strong international partnerships to ensure that the benefits of the digital economy reach all countries and communities. Moreover, particular attention was given to inclusivity, capacity-building, and narrowing digital divides.

Finally, the meeting underscores the DCO’s expanding presence on the global stage as a multilateral platform that convenes governments, the private sector, and civil society, and its growing contribution to international efforts aimed at building a more inclusive, resilient, and sustainable digital economy.
