The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman, presided over the session of the Council of Ministers (Cabinet), this afternoon, Tuesday, at the Peace Palace in Jeddah.

At the start of the meeting, King Salman updated the Council of Ministers on the contents of the messages he sent to Sultan Haitham bin Tariq, Sultan of Oman, as well as the Emirs of Qatar, Kuwait, and the Kyrgyz Republic’s President.

The Council then discussed the general talks, meetings, and discussions that had taken place over the previous days between senior officials in the Kingdom and counterparts in some brotherly and friendly countries.

In this context, the Council of Ministers praised the results of the thirteenth session of the Saudi-Moroccan Committee, and what is reflected in the joint will to develop and advance relations.

The council emphasized the contents of the Kingdom’s speech before the Human Rights Council, affirming its firm and supportive position for Sudan and its people in all that achieve their stability, according to the Acting Minister of Information, Dr. Ibrahim bin Abdulaziz Al-Assaf, who spoke to SPA after the session.

The Kingdom’s classification of eight individuals and eleven entities was promised by the Council of Ministers, as it embodies the Kingdom’s continued determination to target those who have fueled violence and endangered Yemen’s brotherly people, because of their association with the activities of the Iranian-backed terrorist Houthi militia.

His Excellency indicated that the Council reiterated the Kingdom’s assertion during its participation in the Forum of Major Economies on Energy and Climate,

The Cabinet appreciated the efforts of government agencies in implementing reforms and improving and developing business performance, and the Kingdom’s progress (eight ranks) among the most competitive countries in the world.

The council concluded the following:

First:

to Authorize the Minister of Culture and Chairman of the Royal Institute of Traditional Arts’ Board of Trustees to meet with the Chinese side to discuss a draught memorandum of understanding between the Royal Institute of Traditional Arts and the Academy of Arts and Design at Tsinghua University in China.

secondly:

to Authorize the Minister of Justice to sign with the Cypriot side a draft memorandum of understanding for cooperation between the Ministry of Justice in Saudi Arabia and the Republic of Cyprus, to sign, and then submit the final version, to complete the legal procedures.

Third:

The Approval of a memorandum of understanding for cooperation in the field of radio and television between the Radio and Television Authority in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Ministry of Information in the Sultanate of Oman.

Fourthly:

Authorizing His Excellency the Minister of Finance, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Zakat, Tax, and Customs Authority, to sign a draft agreement between the Government of Saudi Arabia and the Government of the United States of America on cooperation and mutual assistance in customs matters,

Fifthly:

Approval of a memorandum of understanding between the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Islamic World Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO) to promote the dissemination of technical awareness and enrich the technical Arabic content.

Sixthly:

Authorizing His Excellency the Minister of Human Resources and Chairman of the Family Affairs Council to discuss with the Emirati side a draft memorandum of understanding between the Family Affairs Council in Saudi Arabia and the General Women’s Union in the United Arab Emirates in the field of women’s affairs, and sign it

Seventh:

Approval of an agreement between the government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the government of the Republic of Hungary in the field of air transport services.

Eighth:

The approval of the Control and Anti-Corruption Authority joining the Karen network as an observer.

Ninth:

The approval of a cooperation agreement in the field of combating terrorism crimes and financing between Saudi Arabia’s Presidency of State Security and each of the following: Kuwait’s State Security Service, Bahrain’s National Intelligence Service, and Djibouti’s General Directorate of the National Police.

Tenth:

To amend the organization of the Prince Sultan Center for Defense Studies and Research, issued by Cabinet Resolution No (339) and dated 2016, as stated in the decision.
