Buraidah’s Kleija Festival 2026 Draws Remarkable Turnout

In its 17th edition, the Kleija Festival 2026 is attracting an impressive turnout of visitors, reported the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).

Since its launch, the Festival has seen a notable public presence and international participants from Morocco, Egypt, and Türkiye, underscoring its growing prominence as a key cultural and tourism landmark on the heritage events calendar.

The Festival immerses visitors in a rich cultural experience that blends popular folklore with local heritage. The Festival features Kleija corners, displaying various preparation methods and diverse flavors, in addition to live performances showcasing the region’s authentic local heritage.

International participation further enriches the cultural scene, with Moroccan, Egyptian and Turkish promotional pavilions showcasing aspects of each country’s folk heritage, food industry and handicrafts.

These pavilions foster cultural exchange and strengthen interaction between visitors and participants amid a festive atmosphere that celebrates diversity.

On its second day, the Kleija Festival 2026 featured a series of programs and events, including art performances and folk shows, in addition to interactive workshops.

Moreover, it included activities dedicated to families and children, establishing the Festival’s status as a comprehensive entertainment and cultural destination for all family members.

Running from January 8-17, 2026, the Kleija Festival takes place in Buraidah, one of the UNESCO’s Creative Cities. It aims to present the traditional Saudi culinary arts and celebrate Kleija as the official traditional dish of Al Qassim Region.

Furthermore, it aims to support productive families by highlighting their products at live cooking shows; hospitality lounges; bakery, factory, and company exhibitions; and food trucks.
