Awareness campaign is launched for those wishing to perform Hajj
The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah confirmed the launch of an integrated awareness campaign to raise awareness and educate pilgrims about the precautions and instructions that must be adhered to before entering Makkah Al-Mukarramah. The aim is to create a healthy environment for performing the rites of Hajj for this exceptional year.
The campaign will begin next week with the end of registration of those wishing to perform Hajj, with the intensification of the various parties working in Hajj affairs and providing services to the pilgrims.
His Excellency, the Deputy Minister of Hajj and Umrah, Dr Abdul Fattah bin Suleiman Mashat, explained that the Hajj environment in2021 would be different from the usual years.
Distance between the pilgrim and the other should be taken into account during the entire Hajj journey. The final plan will be drawn up later for transfer through the competent security authorities.
His Excellency revealed that the camp’s infrastructure work would be completed by the end of the current month of Dhul Qi’dah, pointing out that the period for receiving requests for Hajj was limited to ten days within the opening of the electronic portal.
Authorities registered more than 558,000 requests, the target of which was 60.000 requests. Therefore, the sorting mechanism was then applied to reach the number scheduled for performing Hajj, taking into account the preventive precautions against the coronavirus.
His Excellency said: “The Ministry has employed many technical programs and projects, which this year and the past years, specifically this year, have brought about a qualitative leap in the services that the pilgrims will enjoy.
There will be work teams from the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah from the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development to prepare hospitality for those with special needs.”
