The Architecture and Design Arts Authority is organizing the first edition of the Research Conference and the second edition of the Academic Forum for Architecture and Design.

This event will take place in Riyadh at the King Abdullah Financial Center conference hall, from March 6 to March 9, 2024.

Conference Theme

The conference is titled “Preparing the Landscape for Architecture and Design Research”. It aims to establish foundational principles and a promising vision in the research domain for various sector specializations.

Academic Forum Focus

Also, the Authority will, after the conference, hold academic forum is themed “Change: Shaping the Future of Architecture and Design Education”. It seeks to enhance higher education programs across all sector specializations, bridging the gap between academia and professional practice.

Event Goals

This event aims to foster communication among different community segments within the research and education fields of the sector. It  also aims to achieve desired goals and enhance sector outcomes through an active platform supporting researchers, academics, and specialists.

Moreover, the goals include enabling knowledge exchange to transfer experiences, best practices globally, and featuring distinguished local and international speakers in keynote speeches, dialogue sessions, workshops, and roundtable discussions.

Enhancing Research Industry

By hosting the Research Conference, the Authority aims to elevate the research industry within the sector, enrich the researcher community of academics and practitioners, and celebrate their research efforts both locally and globally.

Furthermore, the conference aims to share the latest developments in architecture and design, promote learning of methodologies and modern techniques in the secto. The event will focus on enabling knowledge and ideas exchange among researchers, the academic sector, and practitioners from various specializations. This supports future collaborations and partnerships.

Academic Forum’s Second Edition Goals

The second edition of the Academic Forum for Architecture and Design aims to improve the quality of academic programs in the sector by adopting best practices in architecture and design education. It enhances the competitiveness of higher education programs in architecture and design specializations within the Kingdom. Additionally, it creates a shared space for academics to exchange experiences, dialogue, and updates on current global topics in design education.

Event Venue and Schedule

Consequently, the event will be held at the conference hall of the King Abdullah Financial Center (KAFD) in Riyadh. The Research Conference will begin on Wednesday, March 6, 2024, and continues for two days. Finally, It will be followed by the first day of the Academic Forum for Architecture and Design on Friday, March 8, 2024, until Saturday, March 9.
