ACYW-135 Vaccine is a Must: New Health Regulations for Kuwaiti Umrah Pilgrims

Kuwait has unveiled new health regulations for Umrah pilgrims travelling to Saudi Arabia to perform minor pilgrimage in Mecca or visiting the Prophet’s Mosque in Medina, Gulf News reported.

The new regulations are based on certain instructions issued by Saudi authorities, according to the Kuwaiti Ministry of Health.

Crucially, the ministry required all travellers – adults and children aged one year or older – to receive the quadrivalent Neisseria meningitidis vaccine (ACYW-135).

Furthermore, they must obtain a certificate confirming that those passengers are successfully vaccinated at least 10 days before arriving in Saudi Arabia.

In the same context, the vaccine is available at all preventive health centres and traveller clinics across Kuwait during official working hours.

Significant Deal for Hajj 2025

A few days ago, Saudi Minister of Hajj and Umrah, Dr. Tawfiq Al Rabiah has signed an agreement with Kuwaiti Minister of Awqaf and Islamic Affairs, Dr. Mohammad Al Wasmi, concerning Hajj 2025.

The agreement aims primarily to streamline Hajj arrangements for Kuwaiti pilgrims during 2025 season.

According to the agreement, the Hajj Affairs Office must ensure that all pilgrims recognize the critical need for obtaining Hajj permits to perform their rituals smoothly. Therefore, the deal stipulates that unauthorized pilgrims will never enter the holy sites.

Held in Jeddah, the signing ceremony took place a day before the opening of the fourth Hajj Conference and Exhibition. Commenting on the signing ceremony, Dr. Al Wasmi revealed that the deal highlights contracts for transportation, catering, and housing services for Kuwaiti pilgrims.

In the same context, he stressed the significance of abiding by the Kingdom’s regulations governing Hajj. Furthermore, Dr. Al Wasmi emphasized the necessity of educating pilgrims on the crucial procedures and guidelines.

Set to run until Jan 16, the Fourth Hajj Conference and Exhibition seeks to foster knowledge exchange and boost service competitiveness.

Organized by the Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah in collaboration with the Guests of God Service Program, the event aims to ensure transparency among all sectors involved in Hajj 2025.
