Relationship Between Saudi Arabia and Kuwait Exceeds International Relations
Al-Sabah Al-Nasser, the ambassador of Kuwait, stated that the Saudi-Kuwaiti relationship goes beyond international relations as it involves fraternity and a shared destiny.
Al-Nasser Statements about Saudi-Kuwaiti Relationship
Al-Nasser believes that the Emir of Kuwait’s visit to KSA represents the long-standing ingrained fraternal relations, as it was the Emir’s first overseas trip since taking power.
Additionally, he emphasized that the two nations are moving in the same direction in all international fora and at all levels to promote peace and stability regionally and globally.
He added that their shared goal of bringing prosperity to their people drives them forward. He believes that this is a result of the close and powerful ties that bind the two nations and their leaderships.
Al-Nasser expressed his optimism that the visit would be a great success and benefit both nations. He declared that both nations have astute leadership and a clear vision for a peaceful future for the globe.
Emir of Kuwait Visit to KSA
Notably, the official delegation led by Kuwait’s Emir, Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah arrived in Saudi Arabia for an official visit, today. Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman led the way in extending a warm greeting to the Kuwaiti Emir.
Main Areas of Collaboration between KSA and Kuwait
Saudi-Kuwaiti cooperation is witnessing remarkable development in the fields of economy, trade, investment, energy, education, culture, sports, media, health, tourism, security, defense, and human development.
This is due to the reciprocal visits between officials and delegations in the two nations. Moreover, the agreements, memorandums, and joint programs that have been signed helped this cooperation.
Aim of Saudi-Kuwaiti Coordination Council
The Council seeks to:
- Create a shared vision that advances and maintains bilateral ties while adhering to the objectives of the “Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf”
- Bolster the integrated economic system
- Find creative ways to make the best use of the resources that are currently available
- Create an efficient and integrated educational system
- Boost cooperation and integration in the “political, security, and military” fields
Saudi-Kuwaiti Relationship in Trade
According to official data, the total trade exchange between the two Gulf states in 2021 reached 6.993 billion riyals.
The amount of goods exported was 5.384 billion riyals, while the amount of goods imported was 1.609 billion riyals.
Both Saudi Arabia and Kuwaiti aspire to increase bilateral commercial exchange to a greater degree.
