The King Abdulaziz Center for World Culture (Ithra) is gearing up for the seventh edition of its flagship Tanween Creativity Conference. The event will take place from October 31 to November 6, 2024, at the Ithra headquarters in Dhahran. With the theme “Fail Forward,” the conference aims to reshape the design process by turning setbacks into stepping stones for progress.
Focus on Design and Workshops
Ithra stated that the event will feature workshops, training sessions, and exhibitions led by 60 international design experts. These interactive sessions aim to equip participants with practical skills and foster tangible design outcomes.
Reframing Failure as a Catalyst
This year’s Tanween breaks the mold by reframing failure as a natural part of the design journey. Ithra emphasizes that every experience holds valuable lessons, leading to innovative discoveries and propelling the creative community forward. Participants will be encouraged to embrace challenges and turn them into opportunities for growth and success.
Design Challenge: Enhancing the Hajj Experience
In line with the conference theme, Ithra has launched a design competition in partnership with the Guests of God Service Program. The challenge invites designers to create sustainable solutions that enhance the Hajj pilgrimage experience. Focused on three key areas – Communication, Waste Management, and Health – the competition aims to improve pilgrim guidance, streamline waste management, and develop solutions to reduce physical strain during the Hajj.
Call for Participation
Ithra encourages designers and innovators to submit their projects by October 24 via its official website.
