Yemeni Minister of Information warns of an imminent disaster in Hodeidah
The leak, sinking, or explosion of the Safer oil tanker which has been under the control of the Iran-backed terrorist Houthi militia for the past seven years, has raised fears of an impending disaster, according to Yemeni Minister of Information Muammar Al-Eryani.
Al-Eryani, in a statement to the official Yemeni news agency (Saba), held the Houthi militia fully responsible for the potentially catastrophic environmental, economic, and humanitarian damage as a result of the militia’s continued efforts to obstruct the arrival of a United Nations technical team to conduct a preliminary examination and maintenance of the tanker.
He was taken aback by the international community’s continued silence and indifference to warnings from research centers and experts about the tanker’s chassis and engines eroding and the appearance of oil slicks around it, as well as the failure to take any action against the terrorist militia’s intransigence.
He wondered if it was because of the terrorist militia’s intransigence and procrastination.
The Yemeni Minister of Information urged permanent members of the Security Council and those living along the Red Sea’s shores to recognize the disaster’s magnitude and risks and to take immediate collective action to prevent it from happening.
