Wife of Turki Al-Hamad Wife Debunks Rumors of His Death
Turki Al-Hamad, a prominent Saudi writer and novelist, was recently subject to death rumors. These rumors were actively circulated on social media.
His wife, however, has categorically denied these claims.
In a telephone interview with “Alarabiya.net,” she confirmed that Al-Hamad is well.
She emphasized the importance of verifying information before sharing.
A Glimpse into Al-Hamad’s Life
Born in 1953 in Jordan to a family of traders from Buryadah, Saudi Arabia.
Al-Hamad moved to Dammam in Saudi Arabia during his childhood. Later, he moved to the United States, where he earned a Ph.D. from the University of Southern California in 1985.
After his return to Riyadh, he taught political science at King Saud University until his retirement in 1995.
He dedicated all his time to writing.
Literary and Journalistic Journey
Al-Hamad began his writing career at the “Al Riyadh” newspaper. Later he moved to “Asharq Al-Awsat” in 1990.
He is renowned for his trilogy “Shadows of the Alley,” first published in 1998. His work reflects his diverse experiences as a political analyst, journalist, and novelist.
Turki al-Hamad is a renowned author in the Arab literary scene. His works, often stirring controversy across the Middle East, have led to four fatwas (religious decrees) against his life.
He penned the novels Adama and Shumaisi, both released by Saqi Books.
Currently he is residing in Riyadh; he also holds a teaching position at the American University in Beirut.
