WEF 2026: Alswaha Highlights Saudi Arabia as Ideal Partner to Shape ‘Intelligent Age’

Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Communications and Information Technology, Abdullah Alswaha, has highlighted the Kingdom’s potential in powering the global digital economy, according to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).

Speaking at a World Economic Forum (WEF) panel titled “Integrating Technologies to Achieve Leadership” in Davos, Alswaha noted that Saudi Arabia is the world’s ideal partner to bridge the computing gap and shape the Intelligent Age.

Supported and empowered by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, Saudi Arabia is cementing its status as a global computing platform in the Intelligent Age by leveraging its abundance of energy, capital, land, and long-term planning, Alswaha said.

This enables innovators and investors to accelerate value realization and drive growth that benefits humanity, the planet, and global prosperity, he added, highlighting applied models in healthcare that contribute to enhancing productivity and quality of life.

Alswaha underscored the Kingdom’s commitment to empowering its institutions and sectors domestically, as well as advancing its global ambition to serve as a testbed and a launchpad for innovators and investors, affirming that every dollar spent on infrastructure yields exponential returns in software and applications.

Alswaha also emphasized that Saudi Arabia’s goals for the Intelligent Age are truly global, driven by an investment vision where the Kingdom’s prosperity drives growth for the region and the world. He noted that the Kingdom represents approximately 50% of the regional digital economy and accounts for half of all venture capital funding and unicorn companies.

Furthermore, the Kingdom is ranked first and second globally in digital rising by the WEF and is now positioned to lead the next wave of economic value through the AI era, he added.

Concluding his remarks, Alswaha stressed that Saudi Arabia is playing a pivotal role in shaping the global Intelligent Age through investment in computing, empowering people, and building international partnerships.
