“Very Special Woman, Princess Reema,” Trump Says at White House Iftar

The US President Donald Trump offered special welcome and thanks to the Saudi Ambassador to the US, Princess Reema Bandar Al-Saud, during the White House iftar on Thursday.

“Every day we are keeping our promises to the Muslim community. My administration is engaged in relentless diplomacy to forge a lasting peace in the Middle East, building on the historic Abraham Accords which everyone said would be impossible … We’re all looking for peace for the entire world,” Trump said during his opening speech.

Princess Reema has attended the iftar gathering along with several ambassadors from Arab countries, including the UAE, Egypt and Jordan, according to Arab News.

“As we approach the end of (the) Islamic holy month of Ramadan, we’re also deeply honored to be joined by many of the international friends and partners,” Trump added.

The president has offered special thanks to the princess describing her as “a very, very special woman, Princess Reema.”

“Princess, thank you, thank you, princess,” he added.

The princess has posted on X: “Honored to attend the iftar dinner hosted by @POTUS. Grateful for his kind invitation and thoughtful gesture toward the Muslim community. It’s a testament to the spirit of friendship and cooperation that brings our nations together.”

US Congress Iftar

Recently, the Makkah-based Muslim World League (MWL) hosted an iftar gathering at the US Congress in Washington, according to Saudi Gazette.

The iftar brought together various members of the American Congress, representing both the Republican and Democratic parties.

In order to strengthen the values of understanding and coexistence in local communities, the gathering has invited Islamic figures and followers of other religions.

By bringing Muslims and non-Muslims together, the iftar stands as a testament to MWL’s pivotal efforts in representing the Muslim Ummah.

The iftar highlighted the participation of several officials such as House Religious Leader Margaret Kipling, Republican Representative Joe Wilson of South Carolina, Democratic Representative April McClain Delaney of Maryland, and Director of the White House Office of Interfaith Affairs Jennifer Korn.
