University of Jeddah Celebrates Saudi Founding Day

The University of Jeddah celebrated the Saudi Founding Day yesterday. The university’s President Adnan bin Salem bin Suleiman Al-Humaidan and staff attended the celebrations, reported Saudi Press Agency.

Importance of Celebrating Saudi Founding Day

Al-Humaidan considered this occasion an opportunity to remind today’s generations of Saudi Arabia’s history, which extends over three centuries. It further commemorates the sacrifices, epics, and heroics that contributed to establishing this precious nation.

The celebrations included a cultural, artistic and interactive program, and a visual presentation that narrated the Kingdom’s founding story. Moreover, various artistic contributions from the students reflected the diversity of cultures and talents within the university, including artistic performances and a fashion show for different regions of the kingdom.

Saudi Arabia is celebrating the Saudi Founding Day today Thursday, 12 Shaban 1445H, corresponding to February 22, 2024. This day remarks the founding of the Saudi state in the mid-year of 1139H (1727 AD) by Imam Mohammed bin Saud.

The celebration of Founding Day serves as a reminder of Saudi Arabia’s journey. Moreover, this day is a testament to the nation’s resilience and unity, continuing a legacy that began in 1727. The Kingdom has faced challenges but maintained societal security and cohesion.
