The failure of the nuclear agreement with Iran enters the region at a dangerous stage: Saudi FM

On Sunday, Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan confirmed that “the failure of the nuclear agreement with Iran will enter the region at a very dangerous stage.”

 

Prince Faisal bin Farhan said, “Polarization is the last thing the world needs at present.”

 

The Saudi Foreign Minister stressed, in a dialogue session in the Emirati capital, Abu Dhabi, that “the dialogue with China, the second largest economy in the world is a very significant issue.”

 

Chinese President Xi Jinping visited the Kingdom last Wednesday and held several summits with the leaders of Saudi Arabia, the Gulf, and the Arab region.

 

Prince Faisal bin Farhan presented “An updated version of King Salman’s vision of cooperation between the Gulf states.”

 

In the oil file, Prince Faisal bin Farhan explained that the Kingdom will continue to work on “stabilizing oil prices” through dialogue with all partners.

 

The Saudi Foreign Minister said, “Oil prices are now fair and stable.”

 

He added that “the price of oil should be fair to the consumer and the producer, and we explained that to America.”

 

His remarks on the relations between the Kingdom and Russia indicated that the relationship between Riyadh and Moscow is based on dialogue. This helped the Kingdom mediate several deals for the release of some prisoners.

 

On the difference between the republican and democratic administrations in America, the Saudi Foreign Minister said that the interests and areas of cooperation between Washington and the Gulf states will remain strong despite the differences.

 

In response to a question about the failure to reach a nuclear agreement with Iran, the Saudi Foreign Minister stated that the Kingdom will continue to push for an agreement.

 

He added that reaching a nuclear agreement does not mean that there are guarantees that Tehran will not seek to produce a nuclear weapon.

 

Regarding the possibility of Iran producing a nuclear weapon, the Saudi Foreign Minister replied that this could be a dangerous development that threatens the security of the region.

 

On the Middle East crisis, the Saudi Foreign Minister stressed that the Kingdom is committed to the establishment of an independent Palestinian state.”

 

On the Saudi interior, the Foreign Minister stated that “the priority for the welfare of the Saudi people and the achievement of sustainable growth.”

 

He stated that “the Kingdom is experiencing radical changes according to a clear road map.”
