TGA Supports Smart Mobility Network with New Autonomous Vehicle Route

Saudi Arabia’s Transport General Authority (TGA) has launched a new autonomous vehicle route in Riyadh for passenger transport, connecting Hayat Mall and Riyadh Gallery Mall, according to the Saudi Press Agency.

The new launch represents an integral part of the TGA’s broader strategy to expand autonomous vehicle operations across several locations in the Kingdom, while accelerating the adoption of smart mobility solutions within the transport sector.

To ensure a safe, reliable, and innovative transportation experience for passengers, the autonomous vehicles will operate daily under direct regulatory and technical supervision.

The decision comes after the successful implementation of a previous phase, during which several routes were activated. The vehicles completed over 1,700 trips and transported more than 3,000 passengers.

By covering a combined distance of more than 30,000 kilometers, the fleet reflects the success of the initiative and further boosts its operational readiness for expansion, with plans underway to launch additional routes in the near future.
