
Minister of Sport and President of the Saudi Olympic and Paralympic Committee, Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki bin Faisal, on Saturday crowned the Aoki Racing Team as winners of the opening round of the UIM E1 World Championship 2026. The team was represented by Spanish driver Dani Clos and Jamaican racer Sara Misir.
The electric speedboat championship ceremony was attended by Deputy Governor of the Makkah Region Prince Saud bin Mishaal bin Abdulaziz, Governor of Jeddah Prince Saud bin Abdullah bin Jalawi, and Sovereign Prince of Monaco Prince Albert II.

Prince Sultan bin Fahd bin Salman, President of the Saudi Water Sports and Diving Federation, presented the second-place trophy to the Brady team, represented by British driver Sam Coleman and Finnish captain Emma Kimiläinen.
The third-place award was presented to Team AlUla by SeaBird Technologies Founder and Chairperson Sophi Horne. Team AlUla was represented by Canadian racer Rusty Wyatt and Spain’s Nerea Martí. Meanwhile, Founder and Chairman of the E1 Championship Series Alejandro Agag awarded the Manufacturers Cup to the Aoki Racing Team.

Following the conclusion of the first round—part of an eight-round season—Aoki Racing Team leads the overall standings, with the Brady team in second place and Team AlUla in third.
Finally, the championship continues with the second round scheduled to take place at Lake Como, Italy, from April 24 to 25.
