Schneider Electric Global CEO visits IL Monte Galala

To witness construction updates first hand, Schneider Electric’s Global CEO and chairman, Jean-Pascal Tricoire visited Il Monte Galala as part of his tour in Galala City in Ain Al Sokhna. This visit comes as a part of Tatweer Misr’s collaboration with Schneider Electric to build and design smart city facilities in its three projects “IL Monte Galala – Sokhna, Fouka Bay – North Coast and Bloomfields – Mostkabal City”, utilizing Schneider Electric state of the art EcoStruxure platform which manages critical infrastructure.

“Collaborating with Schneider Electric, the global leaders in digital transformation of energy management and automation, will contribute to our main objective to build smart & sustainable projects from both environmental & urban standpoints. Schneider Electric’s global expertise will enable us to apply the smart cities’ concept within our projects. Stemming from our constant efforts to partner with the best international service providers to create added value to our residents & offer them a comfortable and distinctive lifestyle” stated Dr. Ahmed Shalaby, president & CEO of Tatweer Misr.

“55% of the world’s population live in urban cities, and this percentage is expected to reach 68% by 2050, adding a significant pressure on available resources. Therefore, we are encouraged to establish smart cities that meet the growing demand on modern infrastructure and services, such as energy, water, road systems, networks and connectivity, and healthcare services. We aim that in the near future we will depend more on advanced solution including Artificial Intelligence (AI), and Big Data to regulate our consumption of those resources and ensure their sustainability for future generations,” commented Jean-Pascal Tricoire, Chairman and CEO of Schneider Electric.

“Egypt is witnessing a recent growth in establishing smart cities, using technology to help residents overcome their daily challenges, and provide them with advanced competent services that fulfil their needs. Energy or water production may be doubled in an attempt to reach an adequate level of competence in regular cities, resulting in high consumption of resources. Whereas, the technology used in smart cities can avoid this issue. With the high-quality services Schneider Electric’s EcoStruxure provides, we can achieve the utmost operational efficiency for our services, reduce high consumption, and sustain energy and natural resources,” said Walid Sheta, Chairman of Schneider Electric Egypt and Regional Cluster President of Schneider Electric Egypt, North East Africa (NEA) and Levant.

This partnership allows Tatweer Misr to become the first Egyptian Real Estate company to implement a central control System connecting all its projects to provide its clients with a remote-control platform for all operational systems. Additionally, the system provides accurate detailed statistics, based on a huge amount and variety of data used to create a safer, smarter and more comfortable environment, guaranteeing up to 50% increase in energy & water efficiency and around 30% decrease in operational costs.

At a later stage, this system will facilitate customers’ lives by enabling them to remotely control & monitor their electricity and water consumption, in addition to offering easy electronic bills payment through a smart mobile app.
