
Saudia, the national flag carrier of Saudi Arabia, reported strong growth in operational performance for the first half of 2025, according to its latest performance report. The airline carried over 17.5 million guests, representing a 7.2% increase compared to the same period in 2024.
Global Reach
During this period, Saudia operated over 100,000 flights—including scheduled and additional services—across its extensive network spanning four continents. This represents a 4% increase in flight operations year-on-year. The airline recorded more than 293,500 flight hours, while maintaining an exceptional on-time performance rate (OTP) of 89.6%.
Notably, Saudia ranked first worldwide for OTP in both March and June 2025, as reported by Cirium, a leading global aviation analytics provider.
Growth in International, Domestic Passenger Traffic
As part of its mission to connect the world to the Kingdom, Saudia transported over 9.6 million international guests, a 5% increase compared to the first half of 2024. This was supported by the operation of more than 43,700 international flights, reflecting a 3% rise year-on-year.
On the domestic front, the airline carried over 7.9 million guests, marking a 10% increase, with more than 56,400 flights operated within Saudi Arabia.
Saudia’s achievements reflect the dedication and expertise of its national workforce across operations, planning, execution, and performance monitoring. The airline continues to enhance quality and efficiency through strategic investments in advanced digital systems, leading to an improved guest experience.
Fleet Expansion, Future Plans
The airline currently operates a fleet of 148 aircraft, supporting robust domestic and international operations. Looking ahead, Saudia plans to add 117 new aircraft in the coming years, enabling:
- Increased flight frequencies
- Expanded seat capacity on existing routes
- Launch of new international destinations
These developments align with Saudi Arabia’s national priorities in tourism, entertainment, sports, and Hajj and Umrah services.
