Saudi Visitors Rank 2nd in Winter Visits to Russia

Saudi Visitors rank second, after citizens of the United Arab Emirates, in booking hotels in Russia.

This is according to the results of a study conducted by one of the country’s online hotel booking service companies, “Ostrovok.ru”.

Russian Hotel Bookings

After three months of exempting Saudi Arabian citizens and those from several other countries from obtaining Russian visas.

The Saudis can now obtain visas “electronically” through the unified electronic platform for issuing Russian visas, according to SABQ Online Newspaper.

The percentage of Saudis planning to visit Russia in winter has risen, in addition to Gulf and Turkish citizens throughout the year, to 38%.

Booking Trends According to Booking Service

According to the booking service, the main demand for trips to Russia this winter comes from tourists from the Middle East, who make up 38% of all bookings. This is a significant increase from last year’s total of 23%, with the largest share of bookings coming from the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Kuwait, and Oman.

European, Asian Tourists

Tourists from Europe accounted for a quarter of all foreign bookings, a decrease from last year when they held the majority share at 32%. Asian tourists make up 19% of total bookings, up from 11% last year, with most coming from Thailand, India, China, Indonesia, and Japan.

Popular Destinations in Russia

Moscow accounts for about 60% of all bookings in the country, followed by Saint Petersburg at 18%, and other cities such as Murmansk, Kazan, Kaliningrad, Irkutsk, Novosibirsk, Teriberka, Sochi, and Yakutsk.
