Saudi Teams Streamline Hajj Procedures for Pilgrims Through Makkah Route Initiative in Rabat

Saudi teams are enhancing the Hajj travel experience for pilgrims departing from Morocco through the Makkah Route Initiative at Rabat-Salé International Airport. Operating from a dedicated terminal, the initiative relies on strong institutional coordination, advanced digital systems, and skilled Saudi personnel to simplify and expedite procedures for travelers heading from Rabat to perform Hajj.

As part of the program, officials complete all necessary travel steps before departure. This includes verifying biometric data, issuing boarding passes, organizing and tagging luggage, and finalizing passport processing—allowing pilgrims to arrive in Saudi Arabia with minimal delays.
Now in its eighth year since launching in 2017, the initiative, led by the Ministry of Interior, has successfully assisted over 1.25 million pilgrims, reflecting its continued expansion and impact.
