Saudi Foreign Minister Spearheads Kingdom’s Delegation to G20 Summit
The Saudi Foreign Minister, Prince Faisal bin Farhan, arrived on Friday in Johannesburg, South Africa, to spearhead the Kingdom’s participation in the G20 Summit.
Prince Faisal is leading Saudi Arabia’s delegation to the G20 Summit in South Africa, on behalf of the Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister, Mohammed bin Salman, reported the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).
The delegation includes the Saudi Minister of Finance, Mohammed Aljadaan, and Vice Minister of Finance and the Saudi Sherpa for the G20, Abdulmuhsen Alkhalaf.
Taking place on November 22-23, 2025, the summit gathers the leaders of world’s largest economies to discuss the most pressing economic and development challenges.
It also highlights the significance of dialogue and cooperation among nations to address global issues, such as geopolitical crises, economic development, debt relief, and climate change.
Moreover, it emphasizes the importance of strengthening international cooperation to reach comprehensive and sustainable solutions.
The G20 members represent the world’s major economies, accounting for 85% of global GDP, more than 75% of international trade, and about two-thirds of the world population.
The group members include Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, France, Germany, India, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, South Korea, Mexico, Russia, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Türkiye, UK, and US, in addition to two regional bodies, the European Union and the African Union.
The G20 Presidency rotates annually among the members. Under the theme “Solidarity, Equality, Sustainability,” South Africa is hosting this year’s summit as the event takes place in Africa for the first time. However, the US is boycotting the summit.
