During an official visit to Spain, Alibrahim met on Thursday with the Spanish Minister of Economy, Trade and Business, Carlos Cuerpo, to discuss the work of the Saudi-Spanish Joint Commission.
Furthermore, the two ministers explored ways to boost cooperation between Saudi Arabia and Spain across various fields. They also exchanged views on the latest global economic developments of mutual interest.
The Spanish Economy Minister, for his part, described the meeting as “productive,” underscoring a shared commitment to fostering bilateral cooperation.
“We are committed to deep cooperation and moving forward together toward a modern and resilient future,” Cuerpo posted on X.
The Saudi Economy Minister’s visit to Spain comes on the heels of a trip to Belgium, where he met on Wednesday with the Belgian Minister of Defense and in charge of Foreign Trade, Theo Francken.
During their meeting, they discussed strengthening economic cooperation, in addition to other topics of mutual interest.
Over the past two days, Alibrahim held a series of meetings with senior officials from the European Union (EU) in Brussels and Riyadh to enhance Saudi-EU relations.
In the light of this, the Saudi Economy Minister held separate meetings with the European Parliament Vice President, Pina Picierno; the European Commissioner for the Mediterranean, Dubravka Suica; and the EU Special Representative for the Gulf, Luigi Di Maio.
He also met with the European Commissioner for Economy and Productivity, Valdis Dombrovskis; and the Diplomatic Advisor to the President of the European Commission, Simon Mordue.
