The General Presidency for the Affairs of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque is stepping up the Grand Mosque’s sanitation and disinfection efforts.
The Presidency’s Agency for Field Services and Affairs and Environmental Protection Investigation has sent over 12 teams, totaling 4000 men and women, to work 24 hours a day.
Other teams at the Grand Mosque
The Coppersmiths Division is responsible for cleaning and polishing Ismaili stone lanterns, Abraham’s shrine, the Quran wheels, and lamp posts.
It also polishes balustrades, brass in capitals and bases of columns, brass speakers set on ceilings, and brass in courtyards.
According to a plan, the mosque’s stair and beacons band will sand the fixed staircase and remove any collected dirt, as well as the beacons.
The complex staff cleans and sands the complexes on a daily basis, as per the plan.
