The Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister, Mohammed bin Salman, on Monday received the Ukrainian President, Volodymyr Zelensky, at the Royal Court in Al-Salam Palace in Jeddah, reported the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).
After a formal reception ceremony, both leaders held official talks. The Saudi Crown Prince welcomed Ukraine’s President to the Kingdom, while the Ukrainian President expressed his pleasure to visit Saudi Arabia and meet with the Crown Prince.
During their meeting, Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and Zelensky reviewed bilateral relations and discussed the latest developments in the Ukrainian crisis.
With regards to this, the Saudi Crown Prince stressed the Kingdom’s commitment to supporting all international efforts aimed at addressing the crisis and achieving peace.
On his part, Zelensky expressed his gratitude to Saudi Arabia for its efforts and pivotal role in the Middle East and across the world.
Several Saudi officials attended the reception ceremony, including Defense Minister, Prince Khalid bin Salman; Foreign Minister, Prince Faisal bin Farhan; and Saudi Ambassador to Ukraine Mohammed Al-Barakah.
The Ukrainian side was represented by many officials, including Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, Andriy Yermak; Minister of Defense, Rustem Umerov; Minister of Foreign Affairs, Andrii Sybiha; and the Ukrainian Ambassador to the Kingdom, Anatolii Petrenko.
Saudi Arabia is hosting on Tuesday key talks between US and Ukrainian officials in Jeddah to end the Ukrainian crisis. The US Secretary of State, Marco Rubio, is leading the US delegation which also includes the US National Security Adviser, Mike Waltz, and Trump’s Envoy to the Middle East, Steve Witkoff.
Meanwhile, the Ukrainian delegation is led by the Foreign Minister, Andriy Sybiha, and Defense Minister, Rustem Umerov. Zelensky will not take part in the talks.
