Saudi Commerce Ministry of recalls 109 Mercedes trucks over defects

Following many incidents caused by a mechanical issue in a number of these trucks, the Saudi Ministry of Commerce has recalled 109 Mercedes Actros trucks, model 2021.

“The cause for this is due to a flaw in the upper steering column carrier,” the ministry noted, “which may result in a loss of control of the vehicle, increasing the risk of accidents.

The ministry urged users to double-check that the car chassis number was included and to connect with the agent to arrange for free repairs.

Daimler owns Mercedes. Mercedes-Benz is known for its high-end automobiles, vans, lorries, buses, and ambulances.

Its headquarters are in Stuttgart, Baden-Württemberg. Daimler-Benz was founded in 1926, and the brand initially debuted in that year.

With 2.31 million vehicles sold in 2018, Mercedes-Benz was the best-selling luxury car brand in the world.

The Daimler Motoren Gesellschaft, created by the Daimler Engine Company in 1901, and the Benz Patent Motorwagen, built by engineer Karl Benz in 1886, are the forerunners of Mercedes-Benz.

Mercedes was the first gasoline-powered automobile, and its slogan is “the best or nothing.”

It is usually thought to be the first self-propelled vehicle to use an internal combustion engine.
