
Saudi Arabia is set to host the 26th session of the UN Tourism General Assembly in Riyadh from November 7- 11, bringing together delegations from more than 160 member states, according to the Saudi Press Agency.
Themed “AI-Powered Tourism: Redefining the Future,” the session coincides with the 50th anniversary of the agency’s founding.
Represented by the Ministry of Tourism, the Kingdom will welcome regional and international delegations as well as representatives of international organizations and major players and stakeholders in the tourism sector.
The session will serve as a global dialogue aimed at shaping a roadmap toward a more sustainable and prosperous future for the tourism industry.
Meanwhile, it will mark five decades of collaboration and progress under the UN Tourism framework.
In the light of this, Minister of Tourism Ahmed Al-Khateeb underscored that the Kingdom is eager to host the UN Tourism General Assembly, affirming that the upcoming session will reshape collective global action in the tourism sector and strengthen its influence across other sectors.
Notably, the program features multiple meetings for the General Assembly, along with meetings for specialized committees and a thematic session tackling the transformative impact of artificial intelligence on tourism.
The session will also include the election of the secretary-general of the organization.
