Saudi Arabia, Oman sign MoU to build relations of partnership & integration
Saudi Arabia and the sisterly Sultanate of Oman signed a joint memorandum of understanding (MoU) to foster partnership and integration between the two nations to fulfill the two countries’ strategic goals in the areas of food and water security.
Engineer Abdulrahman Al-Fadhli, Minister of Environment, Water and Agriculture, represented the Kingdom at the signing, while Dr. Saud Al-Habsi, Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries, Wealth and Water Resources, represented the Sultanate.
The MoU aims to strengthen bilateral collaboration in the areas of integrated water management systems and related legal, institutional, and regulatory procedures.
The memorandum also calls for the establishment of initiatives and projects in the areas of food and water security, as well as the development of water-efficient irrigation techniques and applications.
Discussing climate change and its impact on water resources, preventing its negative impacts, and promoting ground and surface water management are among the areas of cooperation.
