Saudi Arabia Officially to Host Arab Games

The Saudi Olympic and Paralympic Committee announced that the Kingdom will host the 2027 Pan Arab Games.

“Officially… the Kingdom receives the flag of the Union of Arab National Olympic Committees as the host country for the sixteenth session in 2027. Welcome to the Arab world in the Kingdom,” said the committee.

It is noteworthy that the 15th edition of the Arab Games was recently hosted by Algeria. During this edition, the Saudi teams recorded many achievements, the most notable of which was the under-19 football team winning the gold medal, after defeating the Syrian Olympic team “5-4”.

Algeria set a great record in the Arab Games, which was concluded on Saturday. It maintained the top spot in the overall medal standings, which amounted to 253 medals, with 105 gold, 76 silver, and 72 bronze. Tunisia came in second place in the overall standings with 121 medals.

Morocco came in third place with 84 medals, while Bahrain came in fourth place with 42 medals, including 19 gold. This  placed Morocco ahead of Jordan, which came in fifth place with 62 medals, including 17 gold. Syria came in sixth place with 52 medals.

Egypt came in seventh place with 13 medals, then Qatar came in eighth place with 22 medals, Iraq came in ninth place with 45 medals, and Saudi Arabia came in tenth place with 45 medals, including seven golds.
