Saudi Arabia confirms keen to boost strategic partnership with France

Saudi-French discussions confirmed recently the strategic partnership between the two countries, during a call received by Prince Mohammed bin Salman, Crown Prince, Deputy Prime Minister, and Minister of Defense of Saudi Arabia, from French President Emmanuel Macron.

The Saudi Press Agency (SPA) said that at the beginning of the call, the Saudi crown prince expressed his congratulations to the French president for his re-election.

During the call, they reviewed Saudi-French relations, emphasized the strategic partnership between the two countries, and discussed the latest regional and international developments, and the efforts made in regard to achieving security and stability.

The French presidency (Elysée) said in a statement that the contact discussed ways to calm tensions in the region, strengthen the partnership between France and Saudi Arabia, and the repercussions of Ukraine’s war on energy markets.
