Saudi Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Adel Al-Jubeir, announced that the Kingdom will contribute $1 billion to support Palestinians. This significant pledge aims to alleviate humanitarian suffering and advance the pursuit of a well-deserved and lasting regional peace.
Al-Jubeir delivered these remarks during the inaugural meeting of the “Board of Peace,” a diplomatic initiative recently held in Washington. “We are dedicated to achieving a lasting and just peace in the Middle East,” the Saudi Minister of State emphasized.
Furthermore, the Kingdom continues to work actively toward a vision of comprehensive security and regional integration for all neighboring nations. Consequently, this meeting forms part of a broader diplomatic push to revive the “Two-State Solution” amidst high regional tensions.
Sustaining the Palestinian State
The Kingdom historically remains one of the largest Arab donors to the Palestinian people through various humanitarian and developmental channels. Therefore, this new $1 billion contribution reinforces Saudi Arabia’s role as a central player in future Palestinian state-building efforts.
The initiative coordinates closely with international partners, including the European Union and the Arab League, to ensure regional stability. Saudi officials believe that establishing an independent state with East Jerusalem as its capital remains the only path to peace.
This pledge aligns perfectly with Saudi Vision 2030, which views regional stability as an essential requirement for sustainable economic growth. By leading the Board of Peace, the Kingdom positions itself as a mediator that balances humanitarian aid with high-level politics.
Saudi Arabia intends to distribute the funds over the coming years to ensure the long-term success of these peace objectives. This strategic investment demonstrates the Kingdom’s unwavering support for the Palestinian cause and its commitment to a prosperous Middle East.
