Saudi Arabia Amplifies Business Stability through Legislative Developments
Dr. Waleed Al-Samaani, Saudi Justice Minister, has appreciated the keen interest and support from King Salman and Crown Prince Mohammad Bin Salman towards the justice system. He acknowledged that legislative developments in the Kingdom safeguard rights and fortify the stability of the business environment.
Establishing a Legal Environment for Sustainable Business
During the opening session of the eighth Saudi Law Conference in Riyadh, themed “A Legal Environment for Sustainable Business,” Al-Samaani underscored that the evolution of the legislation system, which safeguards rights and enhances business environment stability, has been with persistent support and monitoring from the Saudi Crown Prince. He emphasized that development has enveloped all sectors, especially the legal field due to its close linkage with all other sectors.
Insights on Specialized Legislation System
The minister discussed the specialized legislation system, including the civil transactions system, affirming an expansion in contractual freedom. This harmonizes with the Kingdom’s rapid development, requiring flexibility in contract establishment, stability enhancement in transactions, and minimizing reasons for contract annulment or termination.
Emphasizing Legal Qualification & Preventive Justice
Highlighting the importance of legal qualification, especially amidst digital transformation and artificial intelligence, Al-Samaani stated that there’s a pressing need for a human cadre qualified and trained to deal optimally with technology. He elucidated that the main goal of preventive justice is for people to obtain their rights swiftly and effectively, resolving disputes before they escalate and reassuring beneficiaries about the validity of their contracts and contractual commitments.
Role of Lawyers & Legal Consultations
He underscored the pivotal role of lawyers and legal consultations in enhancing preventive justice by drafting contracts, thus reducing disputes and swiftly delivering rights to their owners. Al-Samaani indicated that the legal sector will witness a qualitative leap in the coming years concerning qualification, specialization, and institutional work, affirming the significance of legal specialization as the most successful means to achieve quality.
