Salem Al-Dawsari Wins Best Player in Asia

Salem Al-Dawsari, a player for Al-Hilal Club and the Saudi national team, won the Best Men’s Player Award in the Asia, during the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Awards ceremony for the year 2022, which was held in the Qatari capital, Doha, on Tuesday.

The AFC chose the 32-year-old striker to win the Best in the Yellow Continent award, outshining Qatari Almoez Ali and Australian Matthew Leckie.

Al-Dawsari became the sixth Saudi player to win this award, after Saeed Al-Owairan, Nawaf Al Temyat, Hamad Al Mخntashari, Yasser Al Qahtani, and Nasser Al Shamrani.

Al-Dawsari led the Saudi national team to victory against Argentina in the 2022 World Cup. He succeeded in equaling Sami Al-Jaber’s record by scoring 3 goals in the World Cup finals.

Al-Dawsari contributed to the “Blue Crescent” team winning the Saudi League title for the 2021/2022 season and the King’s Cup for the 2022/23 season, in addition to his prominent role in the AFC Champions League and the Club World Cup.

Salem Mohammed Shafi Al-Dawsari, known as Salem, born on 19 August 1991, is a professional football player from Saudi Arabia. He is a winger for the Saudi Pro League team Al Hilal, and also represents the Saudi Arabia national football team. Al-Dawsari started his football journey with Al Hilal, joining their youth ranks.
