Saudi Foreign Minister Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah, headed the Kingdom’s delegation to the “Peace in Ukraine” summit in the Swiss city of Lucerne.
During his speech at the summit, His Highness stressed that the Kingdom’s participation comes out of its commitment to support all efforts aimed at ending this conflict and achieving just peace and sustainable security.
The Minister said: “Since the outbreak of the conflict, the Kingdom has emphasized the centrality of international law, the importance of resolving differences peacefully through dialogue, and the necessity of reducing tensions and mitigating the global effects of war.”
He added: “His Royal Highness the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, in continuation of the Kingdom’s good offices and previous efforts in this conflict, expresses the Kingdom’s readiness once again to mediate between the two parties to the conflict and help reach a solution to end the ongoing conflict.”
His Highness pointed out that the Kingdom’s efforts contributed positively to the exchange of hundreds of prisoners, including many foreign nationals.
The Minister also stressed the Kingdom’s support for the international community in any step it takes to hold serious negotiations, saying: “It is necessary to emphasize that any serious process will require Russian participation in it, and we hope that the results of this summit will lead to achieving these goals.”
