Riyadh Air has reached a key milestone in the delivery of its first Boeing aircraft with the successful completion of the initial test flight (B1 Flight) of its Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner.
The aircraft departed from Boeing’s manufacturing facility in Charleston, South Carolina, marking the start of an extensive series of test flights to be conducted in the United States as part of Boeing’s standard certification and quality assurance process. The flight was operated by Boeing test pilots.
Following the completion of the manufacturer’s testing program and the issuance of all required certifications, the aircraft will enter the next phase of flight testing led by Riyadh Air’s pilots and flight crews, bringing it one step closer to formal delivery to the airline.
