Red Sea Festival unveils first set of “New Saudi Cinema” films

The Red Sea International Film Festival revealed recently  the first group of films selected in the “New Saudi Cinema” category, for screening in its second session.

The collection includes 11 films shown for the first time and 5 films shown for the first time on the international scene. The festival is scheduled to be held during the period from December 1-10 in Jeddah.

Due to the success of the inaugural session; The festival will welcome filmmakers and new talents, media professionals, and the public over ten days of events.

The events will feature over 120 of the world’s best films and a packed program of filmmaking and audience screenings.

Mohie Qari, director of the Saudi program at the Red Sea International Film Festival, said: The festival was celebrated last year by showing a rich and diverse group of interesting short films presented by a group of promising talents.

He added: The group of films that will be shown by a group of Saudi filmmakers; aims to shed light on Saudi creative talents.

The stories of the films shown differ, as they combine suspense and excitement; this confirms the promising future that awaits the film industry in the Kingdom.
