OIC Secretary-General calls for strengthening humanitarian aid in the Islamic world

His Excellency Mr. Hussein Ibrahim Taha, Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), attended the meeting of the thirty-fifth session of the Islamic Committee of the International Crescent, the specialized organ of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, held under the sublime patronage of the Kingdom, the host country, the President of the Islamic Summit, Ambassador Tariq Ali Bakheet, Assistant Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation.

 He emphasized that the General Secretariat places a high value on the activities of the Islamic Committee of the International Crescent and humanitarian organizations to alleviate the suffering of victims of disasters, conflicts, and wars throughout the Islamic world.

He stated that yesterday’s meeting was a significant occasion in the pursuit of more effective collaboration to achieve lofty humanitarian aims.

He lauded the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s efforts for what it provides to the organization and its various institutions, particularly the Islamic Committee of the International Crescent.

He also thanked the Islamic Committee of the International Crescent and all Red Crescent institutions for their efforts and contributions, as well as the great pressures and challenges they face in disasters and humanitarian crises, in addition to what the Islamic world has suffered as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic’s outbreak.
