New Global Sport Conference Kicks Off in Riyadh

The second edition of the New Global Sport Conference (NGSC) is set to kick off Saturday in Riyadh, reported the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).

Over two days, the event will host more than 60 international speakers and over 1,200 entrepreneurs and experts, including 200 of the most prominent CEOs in sports, Esports, technology, entertainment, business and investment.

NGSC Theme

Under the theme “The Future of Fandom,” the New Global Sport Conference will explore the latest trends and strategies in sports and Esports, with a special focus on how to enhance fans engagement and build passionate global communities.

With more than 3.4 billion people engaged in gaming worldwide and around 234 million Esports players, the world of competitive Esports has become a global industry that reshapes traditional sectors and prompt change in strategic planning, investment, broadcasting rights, sponsorship, marketing and event organization.

The New Global Sport Conference offers a unique platform for leaders of Esports, games, business, sports, and entertainment to explore the event’s theme, “The Future of Fandom.” Hence, it will explore fans’ key role in developing gaming and sports sectors. It will also highlight fandom’s profound impact on business strategies, content creation, intellectual property, media rights, marketing, and community building.

Focus on Esports

Moreover, the second edition of the Conference aims to establish Riyadh’s status as a global hub for Esports, gaming, sports and entertainment, as one of the key objectives of the ambitious Vision 2030.

One of the key topics the NGSC will discuss is the Kingdom’s hosting of the inaugural Olympics Esports Games in 2025. The International Olympic Committee announced a partnership with Saudi Arabia for 12 years to host the games. The Conference will include a panel discussion titled “A Historic Convergence of Esports” focused on discussing the integration of Esports into the Olympic games.

The New Global Sport Conference inaugural edition, held in 2023, unveiled Riyadh’s hosting of the Esports World Cup, which is running until August 25, 2024. It also featured the establishment of Esports World Cup Foundation, a non-profit organization dedicated to foster cooperation inside Esports community and ensure the sustainability of this sector on the long run.
