The head of the Lebanese economic authorities, Mohamed Choucair, stressed the need for Lebanon to adhere to the policy of disassociation from the conflicts in the region. He called on his country’s government to take the necessary and required measures to restore normal relations with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the GCC countries.
In his statement on the sidelines of the breakfast banquet hosted by the Ambassador of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques to Lebanon, Walid bin Abdullah Bukhari, Choucair promised that Lebanon cannot continue economically without a strong and deep relationship with the Arab Gulf states, especially the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
He expressed his hope that the next phase will be new, positive, and constructive in terms of relations between Lebanon and the Kingdom.
The iftar, which was an occasion to deliberate on the general situation in Lebanon, especially the economic and social situation, was attended by some members of the economic bodies and the heads of the Lebanese and Gulf businessmen councils.
