King Salman directs KSrelief to provide $10mln in urgent aid to Ukrainian refugees

The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, authorized the (King Salman Center for Relief and Humanitarian Action) (KSrelief) (Wednesday) to give urgent medical and shelter aid, particularly to Poland, in conjunction with the Polish government and UN organizations.

 The royal edict, according to Dr. Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al-Rabiah, advisor at the Royal Court and General Supervisor of the King Salman Relief Center, “comes as an extension of the Kingdom’s humanitarian efforts to stand by the affected and needy around the world to alleviate their pain”.

The Russian military operation in Ukraine was launched by Russia on February 24, 2022, as the campaign began after a long military buildup.

The Russian recognition of the unilaterally proclaimed Donetsk People’s Republic and the Lugansk People’s Republic, followed by the entry of the Russian armed forces into the Donbass region in eastern Ukraine on 21 February 2022.

On February 24, after a speech in which Russian President Vladimir Putin announced a military operation with the aim of “disarming Ukraine and de-Nazification of Ukraine”, bombings began on sites across the country, including in the capital, Kyiv.
