Lebanon’s Foreign Minister comments on the Lebanese crisis
Lebanon’s Foreign Minister Abdallah Bou Habib said that the information Minister George Kordahi doesn’t have his support.
He expressed his dissatisfaction with the current situation regarding the crisis with the Gulf and said Kordahi is to blame for his predicament.
The statements of Lebanon’s Foreign Minister came in an audio clip that was leaked.
“I asked him (Kordahi) because I was directing the operation (the crisis) and I was coming to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs,” the Lebanese minister added in the audio clip. He informed me, “What is this, its job, and we disseminated it?” referring to the decisions and policies of Lebanon’s cabinet.
“The dilemma of Charbel, Wahba and Talaa has been replicated,” he continued. Saudi Arabia should be grateful for it for us, but they aren’t. Captagon (drugs) has become a problem. I will not send you if there is no market for you (Saudi Arabia); it is the Americans and Mexicans who are in charge, and they are not the same. This is something Lebanon does not desire. “Would you please contact President Mikati with the task you require?”
Bou Habib reportedly responded to the audio recording in a statement, saying: “In an explanation of what was reported by some media outlets about the existence of audio recordings of a press interview that was scheduled before the emergence of the current crisis last Thursday, October 28, 2021, I am interested in emphasizing that the goal of this interview was to seek to open the door for dialogue and remove impurities to reform the repressive regime.
“I was hoping that the newspapers would help resolve this crisis rather than publishing fragmented and false narratives that pour oil on the fire and fuel attempts,” the minister continued. Convergence bridges should be built with the knowledge that a detailed clarification will be issued on the subject.
