Kafa’a: Updating Used Cars Database to Include 2021 Model Vehicles

The Saudi Energy Efficiency Center said that during the year 2020, several achievements were made regarding the initiatives that were implemented in relation to fuel economy standards for light vehicles.
These achievements include providing the necessary capabilities to implement the second phase of the Saudi Kafa’a Phase II fuel economy standard, which includes fuel economy goals for the years 2021- 2023. The used cars database has also been updated to include vehicle models for the 2021 model year.
The center added that periodic fuel economy reports have been prepared which reveal the manufacturers ’commitment to implementing the standard, and the reports are shared with companies.
Fuel economy targets were also achieved at an annual growth rate of 4 percent, and manufacturers not complying with the requirements of the fuel economy standard were prohibited.
