Jeddah Outperforms Saudi Cities for Quality of Life in 2025

Saudi Arabia’s Red Sea city, Jeddah, has secured the 74th rank globally in the Numbeo’s Quality of Life Index for 2025, thus becoming the highest-ranked city in Saudi Arabia and the second in the Arab world after Muscat, reported the Saudi Press Agency (SPA).

Numbeo is an online platform that allows users to explore, share, and compare cost of living data worldwide. It is also the world’s largest cost of living database and a crowdsourced global resource for quality-of-life data, providing insights into various key statistics.

Saudi Arabia has ranked the 25th globally in the Quality of Life Index for 2025. It came in the 4th place in the Arab world after Oman, Qatar and the UAE.

The outstanding performance of Jeddah in the index underscores the city’s commitment to continuously improving public safety, healthcare and infrastructure. It also demonstrates its ongoing efforts to provide modern public amenities and services, in line with the city’s vision to transform its development plans into tangible reality for the benefit of its residents and visitors.

In the light of this, the Jeddah Municipality has implemented a series of landmark projects that have reshaped the city’s urban landscape, as part of the Quality of Life Program and Saudi Vision 2030.

Jeddah Development Projects

These projects include 5 waterfronts designed to integrate sea into the city’s daily life. The waterfronts include tracks for walking and cycling, public squares, children’s play areas, aesthetic sculptures, in addition to restaurants, cafés, rest areas, and marine platforms.

Furthermore, the development projects include programs aimed at ensuring the cleanliness of beaches, protecting the marine environment, and raising public awareness about the importance of preserving the environment.

Environmental Sustainability

The Municipality has also inaugurated over 445 parks across Jeddah to boost green spaces and community wellbeing. Moreover, the city’s development has seen an expansion of pedestrian walkways and the introduction of modern lighting systems and wider sidewalks to increase safety and encourage physical activities for a healthier lifestyle.

Additionally, Jeddah has prioritized environmental sustainability through innovative waste management programs that have significantly improved air quality and environmental comfort.
