Combat Terrorism
Additionally, the Saudi “soft” and indirect strategy to combat terrorism seeks to address the underlying elements that facilitated the emergence of extremism.
The main goal of the Kingdom’s efforts was to strengthen the legitimacy of the existing political system and eliminate violent opposition to the state. Conversely, the Kingdom strives to consolidate the traditional Saudi interpretation of Islam, which emphasizes obedience and loyalty to the state and its leaders.
IMC
The IMC, headquartered in Riyadh, has also provided tremendous efforts in all intellectual, media, military fields, and combating the financing of terrorism.
Also, the Kingdom participated in international conferences concerned with combating terrorism and extremism. Furthermore, these conferences contribute to drying up the sources of extremism and incitement to violence and hatred.
Meeting participants
The Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Defense and Minister of Interior of Kuwait will take part in the meeting.
In addition, other senior officials and defense ministers from member states and supporting countries will attend the meeting. This comes in response to the invitation of Prince Khalid bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.
It is worthy to mention that 42 countries that strive to fight terrorism and extremism have joined the Islamic Military Alliance.
