
Fahad Al-Dossari, President of the General Authority for Statistics (GASTAT), took part in a dialogue session titled “Insights of GCC Statistical Leaders: Toward an Integrated Data System for a Sustainable Future” during the Third GCC Statistical Forum held in Qatar. The event gathered leaders, experts, and policymakers from across the region to enhance cooperation and shape the future of statistical work in the Gulf.
During the session, Al-Dossari outlined the Kingdom’s ongoing statistical transformation, stressing that dependable data is essential to achieving the goals of Vision 2030. He also explained that GASTAT has rolled out a comprehensive transformation plan in recent years, rebuilding the national statistical system and modernizing its digital infrastructure to elevate data quality and speed up production processes.
The GCC Statistical Forum is one of the region’s leading platforms for the statistics sector, offering an opportunity to explore emerging trends, challenges, and advancements in data. It also focuses on strengthening national statistical systems and developing the capabilities needed to support sustainable economic and social development across GCC countries.
