Under the auspices of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, the Saudi General Authority for Military Industries (GAMI) is organizing the second edition of the World Defense Show, during the period from 4 to 8 February 2024 in Riyadh.
It is considered the leading global event in the fields of security and defense.
Among the most prestigious exhibitions in the world are those for the defense, security, and military industries.
The global exhibition is supported by the relevant ministries, and strategic agencies in the government and private sectors in the Kingdom participate in it.
Unlimited support
His Excellency the Governor of GAMI, Eng. Ahmed bin Abdulaziz Al-Ohali said that Saudi Arabia seeks to support the process of localizing the national military industry sector.
As part of its ambitious vision, it aims to localize over 50% of the Kingdom’s expenditures on equipment and military services by 2030.
He stressed the importance of the exhibition as a global platform for experts, manufacturers, and decision-makers in the field of security and defense.
International partnerships
His Excellency indicated that the second edition of this leading global event in the defense and security industries sector in the Kingdom will be an extension of the successes and achievements witnessed in the first edition of the exhibition, which was organized in March of the year 2022.
He indicated that the exhibition would represent a strategic tool that supports the nation’s endeavors toward achieving Saudiization goals.
It will also provide an ideal environment for communication and interaction between attendees. It also aims to strengthen international partnerships in the fields of the global defense industry and innovation.
Al-Ohali pointed out that the doors to investment and qualitative partnerships are open to all international manufacturers and service providers.
The future of innovation
The CEO of the World Defense Show, Andrew Percy, confirmed that the priority during the second edition of the exhibition is to shed light on the future of innovation and advanced technology in the sector.
He indicates that the exhibition places it upon itself to present programs designed to develop and improve communication between participants, exhibitors, governments, supply chains, and investors.
It is noteworthy that the first edition of the Global Defense Exhibition registered military and defense procurement contracts between local and international parties, with a total value estimated at 29.7 billion Saudi riyals (7.9 billion dollars).
600 exhibitors from 85 participating countries, more than 100 official international delegations, and over 65 thousand visitors attended.
Reserve spaces
On the other hand, government agencies, and major international, regional, and local defense and security companies continue to register their interest in participating in the second edition of the Global Defense Exhibition.
The total reservation rate reached 70% of the available spaces at the leading global event in the field of defense and security. Taking place in the capital, Riyadh, from February 4 to 8, 2024, this event is organized by the Public Authority for Military Industries.
